For weeks I was able to test the OnePlus 15. Here is the in-depth analysis in which I explain why it is a round device
Those who test mobile phones (and we like to test another phone every now and then) have a different feeling and after analyzing it is time to start writing. It's a device you like, but you don't think you'll return. And there are some, of course, you want to stay (you can rest on OnePlus, because I don't like it). With the OnePlus 15, I found that I do not like to stop using it as a primary device.Every time I like to work on my analysis, this is a small view: good design, cruelty, independence.
OnePlus has gotten us used to high-quality devices.Filling the gap because the Nord is always mid-range, and the OnePlus Nord 5 is an example of the brand's good work. However, the OnePlus 15 is an even more rounded device. But is it really worth it?What are its disadvantages? The answer to everything is below.
Before I continue, I would like to take this opportunity to thank OnePlus for sending us a test unit so that we can analyze the device.
OnePlus 15 tech and specs sheet
OnePlus 15 maintains the brand identity by presenting itself in a typical red box.The packaging is dedicated to minimalism and small size, which anticipates what we will find (or rather, what we will not find) inside.
Everything inside the box is well organized, as expected from the brand. We found the following components:
- OnePlus 15 smartphone.
- Data and charging cable (USB-C).
- documentation and quick leader.
- SIM tray removal tool.
It is important to confirm that the recorder is not included in the package. It should also be mentioned that the device comes with pre-installed security.I understand that this is standard for all commercial devices and not unique to our test devices.
Design: Goodbye swipe alerts, hello action buttons
When you hold the OnePlus 15, the first feeling it feels in your hand is a good one.In the version we tested, it weighs 215 grams, which is noticeable. If you use a lighter phone, you will notice a difference, but it won't cause any discomfort. In fact, despite being a large device, it is quite ergonomic, with very rounded corners and minimal screen bezels.
Sure, it's a bit slippery mobile phone.Although it delivers on the build quality, but recommends using a cover to improve grip.As for the materials, they feel premium: with a glass top and aluminum sides.I took it on vacation, traveled a lot and tried it for two weeks without intensive use.The result?Looks pretty solid to the touch, no noticeable scratches on the background.
The tested unit corresponds to the color Ultra Violet. It has a beautiful and discreet finish, although it is perhaps the most impressive of the three available (along with Infinite Black and Sand Storm).Overall, I really like the design. The phone feels high quality and ultimately beautiful. It is not risky in any way, but for what reason is there risk today? For me, this is one of the most elegant OnePlus to date.
The biggest change is in the buttons. We have the usual on / off and volume buttons, but the Alert Slider has been replaced by an action button. This movement is very reminiscent of what was seen on the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro. Its configuration is done through software and allows you to choose a shortcut. To use it, you must hold the button.I used it as usual: to switch between three sound modes (sound, vibration, silence), to repeat the function of the virtual slider.

Generous screen with small bezels
The OnePlus 15 panel offers good quality. We have a diagonal of 6.78 inches with FHD+ resolution. It is undoubtedly a large panel, but I want to emphasize an important detail: it is quite comfortable to use thanks to the fact that the bezels have been reduced to a minimum.
As for the brightness, which peaks at 1,800 nits (HBM), I didn't miss more intensity, even when using it in full sun while on vacation. Visibility is perfect in any scenario. The device has advanced visual comfort features, allowing it to detect eye strain using the front camera. I personally turned off this option because I don't find it to be a problem for me and I don't think it's necessary for the camera to monitor me, but the option is available to anyone whoI need her.
Regarding fluidity, We already have standard 120 Hz adaptive. The experience from other phones at this rate is good: everything moves well. The technical sheet promises a maximum of 165 Hz in games, but the fine print: the games must be compatible.Out of everything I've tried, none of them support it.Interestingly, the only app that can push 165 Hz (via developer options) is WhatsApp.Totally pointless, but curious.
Performance and autonomy: raw power and unsurpassed battery
That's where the OnePlus 15 enters the table. It has the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which has a lot of RAM in our unit. The experience can be quickly summed up: the power is amazing. This is a flying device.
I suspect that OnePlus has done a very good job of optimizing the software with the hardware.I've had no hiccups, signs of slowdown, or performance issues playing demanding titles, editing, or everyday use. It's a seamless experience from start to finish.
But if it works well, independence is a hoot.We are looking at a 7,300 mAh battery, which is an impressive sight to see every day.Combining this power and system optimization, in a balanced way I reached 3 days of use without any problems with the previous tasks I already had (navigation, WhatsApp, e-mail, music, GPS).Enjoy not having to worry about rent.
Talking about the charger, it has 120W SUPERVOOC fast charging. It's fantastic outside, but honestly, when you have a battery that lasts three days and charges overnight, the speed is negligible. It's nice to have for crashes, but the real star here is the durability.
A set of cameras with a telephoto lens to enjoy
In the photography department, the OnePlus 15 integrates a versatile set, although we must be clear: in general, it is a small step ahead of the other titans of the high-end premium range. However, it is a mobile phone that gives good results and makes shooting a lot of fun.
These are the sensors we have in the past:
- Main: Sony IMX906 of 50 MP, f/1.8 and OIS.
Phone lens: 50 MP S5KJN5 with 3.5x optical zoom and f/2.8.
- Ultra wide angle: 50 MP OV50D with 116 ° field of view.
The main sensor performs well during the day, capturing images with an excellent level of detail and fairly realistic colors. When the light falls, the performance remains good, maintaining diversity without excessive noise.
However, telephoto lenses are my favorite. It has the same color calibration as the main sensor, which ensures stability for photos. In addition, its 3.5x optical zoom allows for very nice natural blur, making it a great sensor to use in portrait mode. The level of detail it achieves is something to appreciate.
On the other hand, the ultra-wide angle offers decent quality, although it's usually the weakest link in the rear mount. However, if the lighting is good, very useful results can be obtained.
The device has some very nice software features, such as a Master Mode that reduces processing for a more natural look, and a set of lightly grained filters that give your footage a unique, analog touch.
As for the video, the quality is very high, highlighting the very effective stabilization.A very positive point is the smoothness of the transition between lenses when zooming; There are no sudden jumps, which is much appreciated. It supports recording up to 8K at 30 fps, although the weak point is still 4K.
The downside is the selfie camera (32 MP Sony IMX709).I liked this the least. It suffers greatly in low light and the level of detail drops noticeably. The most unfortunate thing is that its calibration is very different from the calibration of the rear sensors.Even when using the same filters or settings, the difference in tone and processing compared to mainstream cameras is very noticeable.
Software: Lights in OxygenOS, Shadows in Bloatware
OnePlus 15 comes with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. The user experience is good.In general, the system looks clean and fluid, although aesthetically it leaves the product guidelines set by the Google Pixel (which is also a reference for me). However, further optimization and customization options are appreciated.Notable details like widgets that can be created directly from the app icon to access quick actions or the multiple forms that folders can take.
However, bloatware is still a serious problem.I understand that it is unfortunate that mobile phones cost more than 900 euros with pre-installed software such as Tiktok, Netflix, Facebook, LinkedIn and additional browsers that nobody asked for.
When it comes to AI, OnePlus is not far behind in marketing, but in practice it is quite insignificant. We have room for saving screenshots and notes, as well as image editing features (magic eraser, etc.), but overall none of these represent a real incentive to buy compared to the competition.
Regarding support, the brand promises 4 years of basic operating system updates and 6 years of security patches, which ensures a good life of the terminal.
Is the OnePlus 15 worth it?
If you're looking for a balance between design and raw power, the OnePlus 15 is a highly recommended device. It's a phone that stands out above all for its autonomy and performance, two fundamental pillars for any power user.I think it's for you if you prioritize battery life above all else, want a great screen for multimedia content, and can forgive a subpar selfie camera.
We recommend our guide to the best high-end mobile phones
I emphasize that its 3-day autonomy is something that changes the way of using a mobile phone, which allows you to forget about the charger at home. However, you have to consider whether the bloatware or front-facing camera performance is a sacrifice you're willing to make for this price. As for the price, it is quite possible that this device will be cheaper after few months of its launch. For 700-800 euros, it will be difficult to find something better than this OnePlus 15. Even at its official price, it is attractive.
|Unparalleled battery life: up to 3 days of actual use.|Enriched with Bloatware (TikTok, FB, etc.).|
|Bright and smooth performance thanks to Snapdragon 8 Elite.|The selfie camera is promising and stands out from other sensors.|
|Nice screen with minimal bezels and good brightness.|The charger is not included in the box.|
|The telephoto lens is a lot of fun and great for portraits.|It's pretty smooth without the cap.|
For us, we reward it with a platinum medal and a seal of approval.
